According to Human Rights in Iran, today, Wednesday 9th of Shahrivar, 1401, Behnam Mousavand, a civil activist and a political prisoner, was imprisoned in Ward 8 of Oben Prison after refusing to be handcuffed and bound to be sent to a medical center after being beaten and transferred to an unknown location. This political prisoner is serving his 5-year prison sentence for the charge of (assembly and collusion with the intention of disrupting the security of the country).

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “This morning, when Behnam Mousavand was about to be sent to the hospital, the prison guards forced him to handcuff and handcuff him, but after he objected to this issue, he was beaten and left the prison.” He was transferred to an unknown place and there is no information about his condition.

It should be noted that on May 14, 1401, this political prisoner announced a dry food strike in protest against the disrespect of the security agents and his family, and on May 16, 1401, a group of civil activists and human rights defenders called for a strike. He finished his meal.

On May 6, 1401, Behnam Mousavand was urgently sent to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran after his physical condition worsened due to his hunger strike, and an endoscopic operation was performed on him.

On May 2, 2017, Behnam Mosivand was summoned to the 6th Investigation Branch of Evin Prison to attend the interrogation session to present his last defense.

On February 12, 1396, Behnam Mosivand was arrested by the agents of the Ministry of Information and after being transferred to the solitary cell of the 209 security ward of this security organization and during the interrogation process, he was released on March 28 of the same year after posting bail.
