The arrest of dozens of refugees near the Greek island of Rhodes
Aryan Community News Agency – The Greek Coast Guard and a ship that was passing through the sea found about a hundred migrants in a boat near the resort island of Rhodes. These people were trying to enter Italy.
Greek state radio reported that at least 100 migrants were found on Wednesday morning (July 27) from an inflatable boat southeast of the island of Rhodes. These immigrants were trying to enter Italy by boat. These people have been transferred to the registration and reception center in Liros Island.
The health status of these people has been assessed as positive, but no information has been provided about their identity and country of origin.
The Greek Coast Guard says that during the summer months, the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean witness the traffic of various types of yachts and pleasure boats. According to them, it is very difficult to distinguish smugglers’ boats from people who come for fun.
The old boats that are used by the smuggling gangs for the long journey from Turkey or even Lebanon to Italy, often have technical problems on the way to the sea.
This year, the Coast Guard has been able to recover several damaged and stranded boats. Recently in June, a boat carrying about one hundred passengers sank in the water and at least eight of them survived.
