According to an informed source, the names of Mr. Mortazavi and Iqbali have not been registered in the Rajaee Shahr prison system due to the lack of a written transfer order, and the authorities of the Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj are not willing to accept these two political prisoners. In the middle of August 2018, a letter signed by 14 civil activists was published regarding the resignation of Ayatollah Khamenei. After the publication of this letter, some of the signatories were arrested and others were pressured. Currently, Mohammad Nourizad, Hashem Gharin, Mohammad Hossein Sepehri and several other signatories of this statement are serving their sentences in prison.
In this regard, Abdul Rasul Mortazavi was sentenced to 26 years in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad. Of this amount, 11 years of imprisonment can be applied as a severe punishment for him.
Mr. Mortazavi was also summoned on November 17, 1399 to Branch 4 of the Evin Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Mehdi Khodabakhshi, and in another case, he was charged with “propaganda activity against the regime and insulting the leadership” with the example of a statement known as “Countdown to the release of political prisoners”. He was charged.
