An informed source in this regard told Human Rights in Iran: “Behnam Mousavand has started his hunger strike with the promise of following up on his demands from the judicial authorities and the prisons organization to send him to Evin prison and complete his treatment process.”

It should be mentioned that Behnam Mosivand was transferred from Evin Prison to Rajaei Prison in Karaj without prior notice on the pretext of being transferred to an outside hospital on 9 September 1401. He went on a hunger strike in protest against this forced transfer. He was sent to the hospital due to his deteriorating physical condition.

On May 14, 1401, this political prisoner announced a hunger strike in protest against the disrespect of the security agents to his family, and on May 16, 1401, a collective request from civil activists and human rights defenders ended his hunger strike.
