Milad Eftekhari was sentenced to imprisonment and additional punishment

Ariyai Community News Agency – Today, Thursday, September 10, 1401, the 37th branch of the Court of Appeals of Fars province, by issuing a writ, confirmed the original ruling against Milad Eftekhari.

According to Jamia Aryai news agency, today, Thursday, 10th of Shahrivar month 1401, Milad Eftekhari, born: 1374, graduate of Bachelor of Social Communication Sciences from Tehran University, from Bairam city in Larestan, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment by the 37th branch of the Court of Appeal of Fars province. And social exclusions were condemned. With the application of Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, it is necessary to endure 2 years of total imprisonment for the honorary birth.

According to the decree issued by the 37th branch of the Court of Appeals of Fars Province, which was served on Milad Eftekhari today, Thursday, 10th of Shahrivar, 1401, he was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment for the charge of (insulting the leadership in the cyberspace), and for the charge of (propaganda activity against the regime) ) has been sentenced to 1 year of penal servitude and, as a supplementary punishment, to 2 years of prohibition of activities in cyberspace and 2 years of prohibition to leave the country.

It should be noted that Milad Eftekhari has been accused of writing critical articles and articles against Ali Khamenei and comparing the Islamic Republic of Iran with Nazi and Stalinist fascism and publishing it on his personal pages.

Also, due to the referral of Milad Eftekhari’s case to the Larestan General and Revolution Prosecutor’s Office, he will spend his prison sentence with an electronic handcuff installed and under judicial supervision.

Milad Eftekhari was sentenced to 3 years in prison and banned from working in cyberspace by Branch 1 of the Shiraz Revolutionary Court in early August 1401.

This cyberspace activist was arrested by the security forces on June 2, 1400, due to the publication of protest materials in the cyberspace, and after being transferred to the Shiraz IRGC intelligence detention center and during the interrogation process, on June 9, 1400, with a bail of 100 Million Tomans was temporarily released from Larestan prison

Also, on July 1, 1400, after Milad Eftheri was summoned and interrogated, IRGC intelligence department was threatened that in case of republishing critical material against IRGC and Ali Khamenei, it will face prosecution and judicial action.

Suppressing freedom of expression and making baseless security accusations based on the scenario of security agencies violates Article 19 of the Universal Declaration and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights approved on December 16, 1966.

The impossibility of access to a lawyer and the denial of access to other requirements in a judicial process violates Article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights approved on December 16, 1966.

Also, people’s right to a fair trial by an impartial judge, interrogator, and investigator is one of the rights emphasized in Article 10 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In Article 5 of the Criminal Procedure Law, it is emphasized on informing the accused as soon as possible about the alleged charges and providing the right of access to a lawyer and other defense rights mentioned in the law.
